THE WATER PRINCESS

Introduction  Here is a possible story that I have created, and it is about a young girl who overcomes her fear of water and learns to swim. I hope you like it. The Water Princess (Part one)  Nora was afraid of water. She hated the way it felt on her skin, the way it made her hair stick to her face, the way it filled her nose and mouth when she tried to breathe. She avoided water as much as she could, even when her friends invited her to go to the pool or the beach. She always made up excuses, saying she was busy or sick or allergic to chlorine. Nora’s fear of water came from a traumatic experience when she was four years old. She had fallen into a pond while playing with her brother, and he had jumped in to save her. He had managed to pull her out, but not before she had swallowed some water and choked. She had been rushed to the hospital, where they had pumped her stomach and given her oxygen.
